Manang district from the sky - Himalaya
*** My World Tour live ***
π from the sky
Discover the district of Manang, on the Annapurna circuit, in Nepal, aboard a "repatriation" helicopter during the rainy season (end of June 2021).
Torrential rains caused numerous floods, landslides of land and houses, destruction of bridges and the only connecting and supplying road.
We had this golden "luck", to be able to take this helicopter for free in order to return to the city of Pokhara safely.
Many villagers were also evacuated as in the village of Tal, under water, Chame ...
π A big thank you to Nepal Civil Aviation, and to all my Nepalese friends for making this flight possible ππβ€οΈ Namaste π
" My world tour in Live" in Nepal, Buddhism & Kathmandu.
Welcome to Kathmandu,
Although Hinduism is the most important religion here in Nepal, Buddhism is also very present with Tibetan communities.
I give you a little glimpse of this Zen atmosphere that emanate from the Buddhist temples, the Monks, and their chants (mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, mantra used in the background music of the video, mantra that I can hear near the temples, and which I enjoyed listening and singing at the BODNATH temple).
You will notice in the video that the people are all moving, quickly, from left to right around the temple of BODNATH. They pray and walk around the temple several times, all in the same direction, in peace and a very special atmosphere.
I have been living in Buddhist lands for 2 years now, since my arrival in China in May 2019. It is with great pleasure that I wish to share about this culture and philosophy.
I lived in communities practicing Theravada Buddhism, such as in Myanmar, in Thabarwa centers and temples, and in Thailand, at the "Wa pa ta mua" temple. There I practiced different techniques of Buddhist meditations, studying Buddhism, volunteering and helping the local people.
I met there Monks, magnificent people, having a deep respect for Nature, a relationship to the world in the highest benevolence, and giving all their teachings, as well as room and board, in the utmost hospitality, without asking for any compensation except that of learning Buddhist meditation: Samatha and Vipassana, in order to cultivate and spread wisdom all over the world, and to eliminate the sufferings caused by our states of ignorance.
I also lived a few days in communities practicing Mahayana Buddhism, in South Korea and China. There I learned to celebrate tea and meals, create a Mala (wooden meditation necklace made of 108 beads), study sitting and walking meditation and singing. I met monks in Japan with whom I had the opportunity to have many conversations (Buddhism and Zen, Shintoism).
This arrival in Nepal takes me back to my trip to China, in the lands of Sichuan, in northwest China, on the border with Tibet, where many Tibetan villages are accessible. I meet here in Kathmandu and Pokhara many Tibetan communities and refugees camp.
There are different schools of thought in Buddhism. Theravada Buddhism that we find in Myanmar, Thailand for example, Mahayana Buddhism, in South Korea, China, Vietnam and Japan, and Tibetan Buddhism that I met in North West China, in Mongolia, and here in Nepal.
I wish you a good discovery,
See you soon, for new adventures!
